What is PMEGP?

PMEGP is a central sector scheme administered by the Ministry of MSME. It provides margin money subsidy to new micro-enterprises in manufacturing, service, and business sectors through Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: Individual applicants above 18 years
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum 8th standard pass for projects above ₹10 lakh in manufacturing sector
  • Project Cost: Maximum ₹50 lakh for manufacturing and ₹20 lakh for service sector
  • Assistance per Family: Only one individual per family can avail PMEGP benefits
  • Prior Government Assistance: Should not have availed benefits under any other Government scheme
  • Self-employment: Existing units and those that have availed Government subsidies under other schemes are not eligible

Application Process

  3. Documentation: Submit identity proof, address proof, educational certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), and quotations
  4. Bank Loan Application: Apply for term loan with the recommended bank branch
  5. Verification: KVIC/implementing agency verifies application and forwards to bank
  6. Sanction: Bank sanctions loan and subsidy is released after project implementation
